In the creation of a historical novel, the attention of the creator to the thematic diversity of a work of fiction further increases its artistic value. While most prominent literary scholars of the past period attribute the emergence of the historical novel to an innovative, idiosyncratic phenomenon, the French classics do not approve of the idea. They argue that the fact that the writer can only describe the reality he witnessed with truth is that in the opposite case it will be not a historical work, but a complex of fictions.
