This article examines Uzbekistan’s transformative journey in aligning its national gender policies with international human rights standards as of 2026. It analyzes landmark legislative reforms including the criminalization of domestic violence and the lifting of labor restrictions that have propelled the nation into the top tier of global improvers. By exploring strategic partnerships with the UN and the World Bank, the paper highlights how Uzbekistan is transitioning from legal frameworks to institutionalized practice. Special attention is given to historic leaps in international rankings, such as the Gender Equality and Governance Index and the World Bank’s “Women, Business and the Law” index, marking Uzbekistan as a standard-setter for inclusive governance.
