This paper examines how fixed expressions and other compositional language units (such as idioms, proverbs, structured similes, and paremiological elements) function within perlocutionary processes in diverse discursive contexts. It argues that the power of speech lies in its ability to influence, which is closely tied to the speaker’s psychological state and their orientation toward reality. In Uzbek, proverbs, sayings, and idiomatic phrases are commonly used not only as expressions that trigger perlocutionary acts but also as means to achieve perlocutionary effects. The study highlights how these expressions enhance the emotional and pragmatic impact of communication.
