This article is considered within the framework of linguocognitive and linguocultural approaches, focusing on the concept of “rain” as an important component of the “weather” conceptosphere in the English language. The study installed phraseological and paremiological units, as well as data from associative and specialized dictionaries, through which the semantic structure of the concept, its cognitive models, and cultural-linguistic connotations were found. The results show that the numerous units representing the concept of “rain” are characterized mainly by negative and cautionary meanings. At the same time, in certain expressions, rain is found as a symbol of fertility, purification, and a natural part of the cyclical processes of nature. The overall scholarly significance of the conclusions was impact evaluated, confirming their value for linguoculturology, translation theory, and foreign language teaching practice.
