This article analyzes English and Uzbek folk medicine terminology from historical and contemporary perspectives. Folk medicine, having developed over centuries, is reflected in the linguistic richness as an integral part of national culture and traditions. A comparative analysis is conducted on the meaning of terms in Uzbek folk medicine and their process of integration into scientific medicine. The connection between folk medicine and phytotherapy is illustrated using the example of medicinal plants. The formation of modern terms in the English language is also examined. The article emphasizes the relevance of studying folk medicine terminology from linguistic and ethnomedicine viewpoints.
