The development of students' lexical competence is an important aspect of the educational process, since possessing a high level of vocabulary contributes to successful communication and a deep understanding of the language. One of the effective ways to increase vocabulary is the use of proverbs and sayings reflecting folk wisdom and the cultural features of the language. The study analyzes pedagogical approaches to the use of proverbs and sayings in the educational process. The article analyzes students' perception of language constructions, as well as their influence on the development of communication skills. The literature review includes research in the field of language teaching methodology, the psychological aspects of mastering vocabulary, and the role of proverbs and sayings in the formation of language competence. The works of researchers who studied the influence of proverbs on education and their significance in the context of education were reviewed. The study used methods of semantic analysis, comparative study of teaching methods, and observation of the practical application of proverbs in educational activities. The results confirm the effectiveness of this approach in enriching students' vocabulary and improving language literacy.
