This article is dedicated to an in-depth study of the phenomenon of oxymoron, a significant stylistic figure in linguistics and literary studies. The semantic structure of the oxymoron, its inherently contradictory nature, and various grammatical forms of its manifestation in speech are analyzed from a linguistic perspective. The article provides vivid examples of explicit, implicit, and potential semantic types of oxymorons drawn from Uzbek and world literature. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the component analysis method, widely used in analyzing oxymorons, and the crucial importance of context in revealing semantics are discussed in detail. The article concludes with scientific findings on the significant role of oxymoron in enhancing the expressiveness of speech and the artistic impact of a literary work. A literature review section has been added.
