This article examines the legal nature, characteristics, and classification of online payments in the context of the digitalization of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The relevance of this work stems from the need for a theoretical understanding of online payments as a key instrument for the fulfilment of monetary obligations. The aim of the study is to comprehensively analyze this phenomenon and systematize it on the basis of current legislation. The methodological framework comprises systemic, comparative legal, and formal legal methods. The article analyzes the provisions of the Civil Code, the Law “On Payments and Payment Systems”, as well as the doctrinal approaches of leading scholars.
