This article examines the factors influencing the occurrence of prohibition-oriented speech acts in Uzbek and Japanese communication, as well as the elements that ensure effective interaction. It provides examples of both direct and indirect realizations of prohibition, underscoring the role of illocutionary force in such sentences. Furthermore, the article highlights that one feature distinguishing prohibitive speech acts from permissive ones is the relatively rare use of the performative verb one of the direct means of realizing prohibition in dialogical speech.
