The article discusses the linguistic description of the category of desire and its main properties. Within this category, it is emphasized that the opposition of desirability and undesirability and the nature of gradation play an important role. Also, for the formation of desire as a linguistic category, the existence of a specific meaningful framework, means and methods of expression of unwillingness is shown as a theoretical basis.
