This article analyzes the theoretical foundations, practical significance and effectiveness of modern innovative approaches to teaching a foreign language. In the modern educational system, the most important aspects of the methodology of teaching a foreign language are considered, in particular, the integration of digital technologies, methods for the development of communicative competence, as well as the advantages of the mixed education (blended learning) approach. Based on the analysis of literature, modern methods of teaching a foreign language, their effectiveness and practical results are covered. The issues of innovative methods of teaching foreign languages and their introduction were also studied in the educational system of Uzbekistan.
