This article uses the material of the French and Uzbek languages to study the cultural and historical features of toponymic phraseological units. Naming the living quarters of every nation has existed since ancient times. For this reason, place names were used while maintaining their ancient form. The composition of toponymic phraseological units is variable, since they are updated depending on the period as generations change. The results of their calculations indicate that the process of formation of phraseological units of toponyms in both languages is the same, since they are based on common cultural elements.
