Annotatsiya

This article is devoted to the problem of studying graphic elements in the works of the Italian author A. Baricco. Their interpretation is important in philological analysis of the text. Having analyzed some of the author's works (“Sea-Ocean”, “Novecento”, “Three Times at Dawn”), it was discovered that the most used graphic elements are punctuation marks, italics, capital letters, and ‘white spots’. It was found out that in most cases they have an expressive function, aimed at conveying the feelings of the characters, at intonation and semantic emphasis in the text.
