This scientific article examines the main issues related to the constitutional and legal foundations of mass media activities in Uzbekistan. It addresses questions concerning the legal framework governing media activities under Uzbekistan’s legislation. The role of the media in the life of the state and society, as well as its main features, are analyzed in detail. The article also considers several functions of the media and their significance for society. In the course of the study, the author engages in scientific debate with the views of national and foreign scholars who have conducted research in the field of mass media, and their positions are examined in detail. This article may be of interest to researchers concerned with the constitutional and legal foundations of mass media activities in Uzbekistan.
