This article examines the specific features of identifying the causes of domestic violence based on a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach. The family is analyzed as the most important social institution that plays a decisive role in personality formation; however, under certain conditions, intra-family conflicts escalate into violent crimes. Based on data from the World Health Organization and the United Nations, the global scale of the problem is revealed. Particular attention is paid to the national legal policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the 2019 Law “On the Protection of Women from Oppression and Violence.” The article analyzes socio-economic, psychological, cultural, and legal factors contributing to domestic violence. It examines the impact of unemployment, alcoholism, gender stereotypes, and a low level of legal awareness. Special emphasis is placed on the need to develop psychological support services and to strengthen preventive work through the mass media. The study concludes that effective prevention of domestic violence is possible only through the comprehensive interaction of legal, social, and psychological mechanisms.
