This article examines the theoretical foundations and practical implementation of the competence-based approach to teaching dental disciplines. It analyzes modern requirements for dentist training in the context of medical-education reform and the adoption of international educational standards. The study identifies key problems in developing students’ professional, communicative, and clinical competencies. It outlines directions for improving the educational process through digitalization and the integration of simulation technologies.
