Annotatsiya

This paper proposes a simple and visually intuitive method for constructing Islamic ornamental patterns based on the “contacting polygons” technique introduced by Hankin. The proposed approach enables the formation of star-shaped ornamental patterns on a plane using an intuitive system of parameters and a scheme of regular tessellations. The main idea of the method is to construct ornament compositions based on regular polygonal subdivisions of the plane. In this process, a modified version of the Huff rosette transformation is applied, which allows the formation of complex ornamental structures.
