This article is a comprehensive analysis of the implementation of the prosecutor's office's law enforcement and oversight functions in the field of forest protection. The article defines the role of the prosecutor's office in strengthening the rule of law and advocates for a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative approach to assessing the state of legality in the field of forestry. Based on information-analytical and statistical data, the authors, when determining the level of control, separately identify the following indicators: the number of identified offenses, their structure and dynamics, interregional distribution, as well as proposals for improving legislation. The article also describes the main problems in the field of forest protection as forest fires, illegal logging, violations of budgets and contracts, shortcomings in pest control, and a legal and technical shortage of monitoring and digitalization systems. At the same time, it was noted that the insufficiency of the existing statistical base and the lack of procedural and legal significance of digital data limit the possibilities of assessing legality.
