The article examines the development of personal data legislation in the Republic of Uzbekistan in comparison with international standards. It has been established that Law No. ZRU-547 "On Personal Data" and the 2023 Constitution formally enshrine the basic rights of data subjects and ensure compliance with key principles of international law. The study reveals that the Uzbek model contains several distinctive features, such as data localization requirements and mandatory database registration, which set it apart from European regulations. It is determined that the main issues remain the formal nature of norm implementation, lack of transparent procedures, and limited mechanisms for protecting citizens' rights. The impact of international experience (EU, USA, Singapore) on the development of national practices is assessed, and the need for institutional strengthening of oversight and expansion of digital infrastructure is emphasized. The article concludes that Uzbekistan's legislation has achieved a significant degree of harmonization with global approaches; however, it requires improvement in practical implementation mechanisms.
