This article examines the problem of pollution on the surface of solar panels and its impact on efficiency. During the research, observation systems based on two types of light-sensitive sensors - photoresistor (LDR) and photodiode - were built and tested in laboratory conditions. The obtained results were compared for their accuracy, speed, and economic efficiency. The experimental results showed that while LDR was convenient to use as a simple and inexpensive sensor, it had low sensitivity in detecting minor contamination. The photodiode possessed high accuracy and speed, and the relative error was significantly lower than that of the LDR.
