This article explores the Arab conquest of Khwarazm in the 8th century and the political and military resistance carried out by the rulers of Khwarazm. During the military expansion of the Arab Caliphate in the region of Transoxiana, Khwarazm endeavored to preserve its independence through various political, diplomatic, and military strategies. Particular attention is paid to the resistance during the reign of Khwarazmshahs such as Azkajush and Khurzad, internal conflicts, and the eventual Arab occupation of the region. The study also examines how this resistance was reflected in the consciousness of the local population and its historical significance for Khwarazm.
