This article presents a legal analysis of parallel imports as a potential form of intellectual property rights infringement and examines the possibility of classifying them as counterfeit products. Based on the principle of exhaustion of exclusive rights, various approaches to parallel imports in international practice and the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan are analyzed. Special attention is given to distinguishing between the concepts of parallel import (so-called "grey" import of genuine goods) and counterfeit products, as well as the legal consequences associated with each of these phenomena. In conclusion, the article formulates findings on the legal nature of parallel imports, their difference from traditional counterfeits, and recommendations for improving legislation in this area.
