The article examines the issues of the legal status of interns and assistant lawyers, the procedure for their admission to advocacy structures and remuneration, areas of activity through an analysis of national and international legislation. When studying issues related to the organization of the activities of a trainee and assistant lawyer in Russia and France, certain gaps and legal conflicts in legislation were identified, and proposals were put forward to eliminate them.
