The scientific article is devoted to the study of the concepts of "fake" and "disinformation", methods and technologies for effective detection of fakes and disinformation in the modern media environment. The author considers media literacy as the main means of countering illegal information. The paper considers modern trends of effective counteraction to the spread of inaccurate information with the help of AI (artificial intelligence) technologies, including by increasing the number and quality of fact-checking platforms
