The article examines the characteristics of the social organization of the population in the Fergana region during its incorporation into the Russian Empire (from the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century). It analyzes changes in the region's social structure under the influence of colonial policy, including transformations of the traditional order, interactions between the local elite and the imperial administration, as well as the condition of peasants, artisans, and the clergy. Special attention is given to class transformations, the introduction of the Russian administrative system, and the impact of the imperial legal framework on social relations. Based on archival materials and scholarly research, the article identifies elements of continuity in the traditional social model as well as signs of modernization resulting from the region’s integration into the imperial space.
