This study analyzes the historical, ethnic, and geopolitical roots of the ongoing Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between the Republics of Azerbaijan and Armenia and examines its impact on the South Caucasus region. The research work examines the causes of the conflict, the role of international mediation, and regional actors in a new context. The results show the complexity of the conflict and the limitations of different approaches (military, diplomatic, economic). In order to achieve peace, it is important to restore trust between the two peoples and adhere to international law.
