The article is devoted to the semantic analysis of phraseological units with the component "heart" in Russian and German languages. The object of the study is phraseological expressions that include the lexeme "heart" (Herz) and reflect human emotional states. Based on a comparative approach, the study identifies universal and culturally specific features in the conceptualization of emotions in the two languages. The research relies on linguocultural and cognitive approaches.
