Annotatsiya

This article presents a comparative analysis of Western and Islamic psychological schools regarding human nature and the issue of motivation. In Western psychology, personality and motivational forces are explained through psychoanalysis, behaviorism, and humanistic approaches. In Islamic psychology, the human being is viewed as a pure, holistic entity that develops through the harmony of the nafs (ego), heart, spirit, and intellect. The research highlights the Western inclination to interpret human nature and motivation from a materialistic and biological standpoint, whereas Islamic psychology evaluates spiritual and afterlife goals as key motivational sources. The scientific dimensions of this issue are explored through an analysis of the article “Human Nature and Motivation: A Comparative Analysis between Western and Islamic Psychologies” by Abbas Abdul Razzaq, Mazia Mustafo, and Yusuf Ali.
