Amidst modern global ecological crises, biodiversity loss, and biosphereinstability, teaching zoology in higher education using systemic and innovative approaches hasacquired paramount urgency. This article analyzes the methodological necessity and pedagogicaldidactic opportunities of transforming fundamental zoological knowledge through mediatechnologies and virtual laboratories. The study provides a scientific rationale for the role ofdigital modeling tools in overcoming the taxonomic complexity of the subject and optimizingstudents' cognitive load. Concurrently, within the context of contemporary research, the paperaddresses the adverse effects of excessive multimedia overload, alongside the conceptualchallenges related to the insufficiency of technological infrastructure in higher educationinstitutions, and proposes strategic solutions.
