This article examines the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, focusing on the legal procedures governing the circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors. Drawing on various articles of the law, it investigates the classification of specific plants within drug lists and the restrictions placed on their distribution as well. In addition, the article analyzes lists of drug-containing plants adopted by other countries, including the Russian Federation. Finally, it points out the lack of clear understanding regarding shortcomings in Uzbekistan’s current legislation, particularly in relation to plants containing psychotropic substances and precursors.
