This article analyzes the scientific and methodological foundations for developing students’ text perception and analysis skills based on the cognitive-pragmatic approach. The cognitive-pragmatic approach focuses on developing learners’ ability to comprehend text content deeply, interpret meaning, context, and communicative intent. The study highlights effective methods of working with texts in native language lessons to foster independent thinking and enhance students’ speech and communication competence.
