The article examines the Bolshevik policy of establishing workers' control in enterprises as part of the nationalization of industrial sectors following the October Revolution of 1917, within the framework of introducing a new socialist economy. The establishment of workers' control is characterized as a phase in the Soviet government's policy of industrial nationalization, substantiating that, in practice, workers' control meant the establishment of state supervision. The article assesses the legal foundations created to implement this policy and the impact of problems and conflicts arising during the process on the country’s economic condition. Additionally, using archival documents and other sources, the article analyzes the decline in the activity of enterprises where workers' control was introduced and the measures taken by local property owners and entrepreneurs in response. Negative consequences of establishing workers' control were identified not only in large industrial enterprises but also in medium and small ones.
