In the context of the digital transformation affecting all aspects of life in Uzbek society, this article examines the development trends of the institute of digital forensics as a specialized branch of forensic theory. It highlights the implementation of electronic legal proceedings, the widespread use of innovative information technologies by law enforcement agencies, and the objective increase in computer-related offenses. The discussion also takes into account modern advancements in criminology and procedural legislation governing the handling of digital traces and evidence.
