The article is devoted to the actual problem of the formation of students' cognitive activity based on national cultural heritage. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of using cultural heritage in the educational process. The author substantiates the necessity of integrating elements of national culture into educational programs to increase students' motivation for learning, develop their creative potential, and form their civic identity. The article presents the results of empirical research conducted among students of various universities. The analysis of the obtained data made it possible to identify effective methods and techniques for using cultural heritage in the educational process, as well as to determine the main obstacles and ways to overcome them. Based on the results obtained, practical recommendations for teachers aimed at improving the effectiveness of the use of cultural heritage for educational purposes are formulated.
