This article examines a growingly significant issue—the Afghan factor in the process of integration among the states of Central and South Asia. It provides a detailed description of the states opposing integration efforts in these regions, along with the existing barriers and challenges. The article also offers a brief overview of the relations between Uzbekistan’s leadership and the Taliban leadership in Afghanistan, while outlining Uzbekistan’s approaches to fostering and enhancing comprehensive relations within the region
