This article examines the features of the development of internal and foreign trade relations of the Zarafshan oasis at the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries. Particular attention is paid to the history of trade in the Zarafshan oasis and the role of trade activities in the socio-economic life of this region. Changes in trade over the specified period are analyzed, and specific and general aspects of these changes are identified. The positive and negative aspects of transformations in the trade of the territories of the Turkestan General Government are also studied, starting from the second half of the 19th century, when, after the invasion of the Russian Empire, the oasis was administratively divided into two parts, and the impact of this process on the trading areas is considered.
