This article discusses issues related to the characteristics of a socially dangerous attack and actions taken in a state of necessary defense. The criteria for the presence or absence of an attack are analyzed, which makes it possible to determine whether a socially dangerous attack was stopped. The state of the attack, the subjective perception of the attack by the defender, his life experience, level of knowledge and physiological characteristics are also considered.
