The article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution and current state of the social insurance system in Uzbekistan. It highlights comprehensive reforms across economic sectors to create more inclusive, sustainable and resilient societies. The author examines in detail the important role of social insurance in ensuring the well-being and financial stability of the population, emphasizing that social policy based on the principles of a welfare state has been developed since Uzbekistan gained independence, although its official implementation in the Constitution took place only in 2023. The article also focuses on the difference between social insurance and social assistance, emphasizing the need for a clear definition of these concepts and the different mechanisms for financing them.
