This article presents a comparative analysis of methodologies for assessingtourism carrying capacity at architectural heritage sites. A systematic literature review of 29scientific sources published between 1964 and 2025 identified six principal methodologicalapproaches: Cifuentesʼ three-level model (PCC–RCC–ECC), Shelby–Heberleinʼs social carryingcapacity framework (C-CAP), Limits of Acceptable Change (LAC), Coccossisʼ compositeindicator system, HBIM-sensor-based digital monitoring, and GIS-agent-based modeling. Thestudy systematizes formulas, correction factors, and application domains of each methodology.Findings indicate that no single model fully addresses the specificities of heritage buildings, including CO₂ concentration dynamics in enclosed spaces, structural load tolerance, and culturalvalue preservation. An integrated approach combining quantitative frameworks with digitalmonitoring technologies is recommended.
