Synthesis of 30-O-METHYL-18-DEHYDROGLYCYRRHETATE esters with benzoic acid and its derivative

Annotatsiya

In this study, new ester derivatives were synthesized by esterifying the hydroxyl group at the C-3 position of 30-O-methyl-18-dehydroglycyrrhetate with benzoic acid and 4-phenylbenzoic acid. The chromatographic and spectral properties of the obtained compounds were studied. The synthesized derivatives were identified using thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography methods, and their chemical purity was evaluated. The chemical structures of the compounds were confirmed using ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopic analysis methods. The results of the UV spectral analysis showed that the chromophore system remained virtually unchanged at the absorption maxima of the synthesized esters. IR spectroscopy data confirmed the disappearance of the peak characteristic of the hydroxyl group at the C-3 position, as well as the formation of new ester bonds and the appearance of peaks characteristic of the aromatic groups within the molecule.
