Annotatsiya

The article examines the demographic dimensions of the seven nationwide programs outlined in the speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, delivered on August 28, 2026. It analyzes the interrelationship between demographic policy in contemporary Uzbekistan and such areas as education, healthcare, employment, the economy, ecology, regional development, and social integration, in addition to issues related to population size and structure. Based on official statistical data, materials from the first population census conducted in Uzbekistan in 2026, and international sources, the study considers the relationships among human capital development, healthy life expectancy, labor productivity, family well-being, and the quality of the living environment. To assess the demographic effectiveness of state programs, the article proposes the use of an expanded system of indicators that takes into account not only quantitative population measures but also the quality of human potential and the opportunities for its realization throughout the life cycle.
