Professor Ibodulla Mirzaev has translated and published several studies by E. E. Bertels dedicated to Alisher Navoi from Russian into Uzbek. Although these translations have been partially examined from the perspective of translation studies, they require deeper and more comprehensive research. The article focuses not on Mirzaev's translated texts themselves, but rather on the processes and contextual observations associated with his initiation and execution of the translation work. Based on interview materials with the translator, the study highlights his endeavors to introduce contemporary Uzbek readers to the specifics of foreign Navoi studies. Furthermore, the scholarly and translational personality of I. Mirzaev is illuminated. This article serves as source in the fields of academic research and translation studies, revealing the translator's scientific worldview and his role in integrating international scholarly heritage into a national context through the medium of text.
