Since 2018, the author of this article has been involved in a long-term research project aimed at compiling the “World Catalogue of ʿAlī Shīr Navāʾī’s Manuscripts”, which includes, among other components, the systematic study of Iranian manuscript copies of the poet’s works. Although catalogues and scholarly publications already provide certain information on these manuscripts, many aspects of their composition, provenance, and transmission remain insufficiently clarified. Significant progress in expanding and refining the data on Navāʾī’s Iranian manuscripts was made through a research trip undertaken by Uzbek Navāʾī scholars to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2024. Conducted at the initiative of the ʿAlī Shīr Navāʾī International Public Foundation, this fieldwork formed part of a broader program devoted to the study of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage preserved abroad.
