The scientific and theoretical founder of uzbek linguopoetics: scholarly legacy and research principles

The article examines, from historical and conceptual perspectives, the role of Doctor of Philology and Professor Ibodulla Kamolovich Mirzayev in establishing Uzbek linguopoetics as an independent field of research. It systematizes his approach to the integral interpretation of poetic texts through the combined achievements of linguistics, literary studies and verse theory, as well as his findings on rhyme semantics, poetic syntax, word order, rhythm and information structure. The term “founder” is defined through five criteria: historical priority, theoretical innovation, methodological integrity, the formation of a scholarly school, and the transfer of research outcomes into education. The study argues that Mirzayev’s contribution did not negate earlier Uzbek scholarship on literary language; rather, it integrated that legacy within linguopoetics and specified the object, categories and procedures of poetic-text analysis. The continuity of his ideas is demonstrated through later dissertations and monographs and through the innovative teaching method known as “Analytical Reading.”
