Developing the professional practice of physical education instructors: pedagogical conditions and a structural-functional model

Annotatsiya

This study aimed to substantiate the pedagogical conditions for developing the professional practice of physical education instructors and to propose a structural-functional model. Between 2023 and 2026, 400 instructors participated in a study using questionnaires, tests, interviews, pedagogical observation, expert assessment, and statistical analysis. Professional practice was assessed across motivational-value, cognitive-methodological, practical-activity, communicative-organizational, and reflective-evaluative components. Based on the diagnostic findings, six pedagogical conditions were identified and a model comprising target, methodological, content, organizational-technological, diagnostic-evaluative, and outcome blocks was developed. The model was piloted within a targeted 72-hour module. The integral indicator of professional practice changed from 57.5% to 81.1% in the experimental group and from 57.8% to 64.4% in the control group; the difference in gains was 17.0 percentage points. The findings suggest potential benefits from integrating practice-oriented tasks, video analysis, reflective assessment, and post-course methodological support tailored to instructors’ professional needs.
