Transformation of ecological consciousness and ecological culture: a philosophical analysis

Annotatsiya

The article provides a philosophical analysis of the process by which ecological consciousness turns into ecological culture. Theontological-axiological level of ecological consciousness is distinguished from the institutional, normative-behavioural level ofecological culture; treating the two as synonyms leaves the mechanism of transition between them unexamined. Drawing onWestern environmental philosophy (the land ethic, deep ecology) and recent Uzbek philosophical scholarship, the article proposesa four-stage model of transformation — spontaneous, anthropocentric-reflective, ecocentric-reflective, and institutional-cultural.The article concludes that the transformation is completed only through deliberate institutionalization by means of education, lawand the value system
