Periodontitis is one of the most common types of dental pathology. Many factors play a role in the emergence and development of this disease. Despite certain progress in the study of etiological and pathogenetic factors and the development of periodontitis diagnostics and complex treatment methods, the mechanisms of its occurrence and development have not yet been fully determined. The appearance and passage of periodontitis are accompanied by significant changes in the composition of humoral factors in the oral fluid: immunoglobulins of the IgA, IgG classes, and secretory immunoglobulins, which play a leading role in the protection of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity - slgA; albumin, whose concentration in oral fluid increases as a result of increased permeability of blood vessel walls; extracellular peroxidase that enters the oral fluid from activated phagocytes during degranulation and destruction.
