Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers that can be effectively prevented. When detected at an early stage, it becomes more responsive to treatment, leading to higher overall and relapse-free survival rates, improved quality of life for patients, and reduced treatment costs. According to international guidelines, the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA test is recognized as a valid alternative to the Pap test for primary cervical cancer screening. However, its use is contingent upon achieving a balance of clinical sensitivity and specificity in detecting cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or higher (CIN2+) lesions.
