This article examines the specific features of folk music pedagogy within the system of contemporary higher music education. It explores the theoretical foundations of the ethnopedagogical approach and the significance of folk music in the professional training of musicians. Particular attention is given to the role of traditional musical art in shaping students’ cultural identity and preserving national musical heritage. The study analyzes the integration of folk music into the academic educational environment through the combination of traditional teaching methods with modern pedagogical and digital technologies. It identifies key challenges in incorporating folk music culture into the educational process, including the lack of methodological resources, shortage of qualified specialists, commercialization of folklore, and declining youth interest in traditional arts. The article also highlights the potential of digital platforms, electronic archives, folklore expeditions, and student project activities as effective tools for preserving and promoting folk music heritage. The study concludes that a comprehensive approach is essential for the successful development of folk music pedagogy in higher music education institutions.
