The article analyzes main problems of increasing the independence and fairness of the courts in Uzbekistan, explores main aspects of eradicating the abuse of judges, including problematic issues of bringing judges to criminal responsibility. Some measures of the state in increasing the openness and transparency of the court, in particular in the field of informatization and introduction of “electronic production”, which have not been brought to their logical conclusion, are highlighted. In addition, main shortcomings and gaps in organization of the work of judges, including regarding the role of chairman of the court, reducing excessive workload of judges in order of improving the quality of work and responsible approach of judges to make a lawful, fair and objective decision, are studied, the author’s conclusions and recommendations are presented.
